Bill Bruton inducted into Milwaukee Braves Honor Roll

The Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Braves Historical Association inducted former Milwaukee Braves outfielder Bill Bruton into the Braves Honor Roll. An induction ceremony took place at Miller Park on Monday, May 16, 2016, at the site of the Braves Honor Roll, which is located on the Miller Park Field Level Concourse along the third base side.

The lighting-quick center fielder spent eight of his 12 seasons in the Major Leagues with the Milwaukee Braves from 1953-1960. He batted .276 with 48 HR, 327 RBI and 143 stolen bases with the Braves. Bruton finished his career with the Detroit Tigers from 1961-64. He passed away on December 5, 1995. Pictured are three generations of Bill Bruton’s family and close friends, who showed up to accept the honor on his behalf.
