Pastor John K. and first lady Barbara Patterson were honored at an appreciation service on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 5277 N. 36th Street. The Pattersons have served as ministerial leaders for the past 17 years. Over 100 people attended the celebration honoring the couple. Pastor Patterson was installed as pastor of Mt. Olive after the death of the founding leader, his father the late Reverend Genora Patterson. The celebration centered around tributes given by family members, parishioners and local ministerial leaders.
