Aurora Health Care, part of Advocate Health, joined Milwaukee County Parks staff and community leaders Tuesday to plant 100 trees at Popuch Park, supporting efforts to expand Milwaukee’s urban tree canopy and create healthier, more resilient neighborhoods.

The event supports Advocate Health’s commitment to plant or fund the planting of 30,000 trees across the communities it serves by 2030. The initiative is designed to expand green space while addressing environmental factors that can affect health, including extreme heat, air pollution and flooding.
“Planting trees is a tangible way we can invest in the health and resilience of our communities,” said Cecilia DeLoach Lynn, vice president of enterprise sustainability at Advocate Health.

“By working alongside our teammates and community partners, we’re creating greener spaces that can make a meaningful difference in the places people live, work and gather.”

Teammates planted several tree varieties, including oaks, maples and dogwoods.

Popuch Park was selected in partnership with Milwaukee County Parks as part of a broader effort to expand Milwaukee’s urban tree canopy and natural areas. Since launching the initiative in 2025, Advocate Health has planted or funded more than 7,000 trees across the communities it serves, making steady progress toward its goal of 30,000 trees by 2030.
