Sixty years after walking the halls of North Division High School, members of the legendary Class of 1966 came together this past weekend to celebrate an extraordinary milestone—their 60th Class Reunion.
The weekend celebration, organized and co-hosted by Saleem El-Amin and Mac Weddle, brought classmates together for a memorable combination of fellowship, music, food, laughter and plenty of Blue Devil pride. Special thanks went to Cassandra Brooks, Willette Bowie and Olivia El-Amin for their support and the key role they played in making this reunion was successful!
The festivities began Friday with a Meet and Greet at the Community Within the Corridor located near 32nd Street and Center Street. It provided the perfect setting for classmates to reconnect, reminisce about their high school years and celebrate friendships that have endured for more than six decades.
On Saturday, the celebration moved to the water for an evening boat ride. With great music setting the atmosphere, delicious food and the Milwaukee scenery providing a beautiful backdrop, classmates continued sharing stories and creating new memories.
The music was awesome. The food was great. And the fellowship was second to none!
Perhaps one of the most memorable moments of the reunion came when one of North Division’s legendary Blue Devils and Valedictorian Paul Reneau, proudly arrived wearing his original North Division letterman’s jacket from his high school days.
And yes—60 years later, he could still fit it!
The moment captured the spirit of the entire weekend. Although six decades have passed since the Class of 1966 graduated, the friendships, memories and unmistakable pride of being a North Division Blue Devil remain as strong as ever.
A 60th class reunion represents far more than the passing of time. It represents friendships that survived careers, families, moves, challenges, triumphs and the many chapters of life. For the North Division Class of 1966, this weekend was an opportunity to celebrate not only where they came from, but also the remarkable journey they have shared.
Congratulations to Saleem El-Amin and Mac Weddle for helping bring classmates together for such a memorable celebration, and congratulations to the entire North Division High School Class of 1966 on reaching this incredible milestone.
Once a Blue Devil, always a Blue Devil.
Here’s to 60 years of memories—and 60 more years of friendship, fellowship and Blue Devil pride!
