
On Friday, November 14, 2025, Mt. Zion Assembly Healing Temple, Suffragan Bishop Monica Parchia Price, along with Dr. Ricky L. Price, Sr. and the Milwaukee Police Department’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement honored 11 individuals who are making an impact on the Milwaukee community, at the “1st Annual Elegant Praise Awards” at the church, located at 4300 N. Green Bay Ave. One of the honorees were fallen Milwaukee Police Officer Kendall Isaiah Corder. Other honorees included community advocate Deacon Joseph Beamon; radio personality, and community advocate Homer Blow; director of the office of African-American affairs Melissa Buford; Salvation Army champion and community advocate Mary Fullilove; Reid’s New Golden Gate Funeral Home and House Of Branch Funeral Home president Shelia Reid Johnson; AM 1560 WGLB Radio owners The Kinlow Family; Lena’s Grocery Stores co-founder Lena Martin; Lisa Kaye Bistro & Catering owner Lisa McKay; Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher McCray; Torrence House Of Threads owner Elliott Torrence; Special guest were the Marquette University Gospel Choir.
