
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, The Spann Foundation celebrated its 22nd Annual Scholarship Brunch with an “All White Affair” at the Four Points by Sheraton-North Shore, 8900 North Kildeer Court.

The Spann Scholarship Foundation was established by Dr. Wilma Spann, a retired MPS administrator, to honor the life and legacy of her late husband, Rev. James W. Spann, II, and their daughter Margo Spann.

The foundation was formed in January, 2001 and at this year’s celebration, eight deserving high school seniors were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship along with a laptop computer.

The keynote speaker was Wisconsin State Representative for the 17th Assembly District, Supreme Moore Omokunde.
