Remembering William L. Hackney

William L. Hackney went home peacefully to our heavenly Father on Saturday, December 24, 2022, in Milwaukee. Born in Detroit, his light shone for 82 years.

William was a resident of Milwaukee for more than 50 years. During that time, he worked in a brewery; as a case manager for the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development; as a volunteer at the Clinton Rose Center; and as a mentor to neighborhood children, who knew him as ‘Uncle Bill.’

William is survived by nine children, including seven sons: Terrance, Tyrone, Haneef, Jessie, Travonie, Michael, and Wayne and, two daughters: Faye and Alexis; brother, Charles; a special friend, Rory Taylor, and many more who shared his way of life

A memorial service for William Hackney will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Mission of Christ Lutheran Church, 912 West Center Street in Milwaukee.
