Pulaski approved as International Baccalaureate school

July 19, 2018

Students at Casimir Pulaski High School will have many new options this fall with the official launch of its new International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme. The IB Programme focuses on developing inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who will have the personal and professional skills to succeed in a modern, global society. Pulaski students will have access to IB coursework that will deliver greater challenges and rigorous learning. IB classes can qualify for college credit and make students more competitive in their college applications and scholarships.

Pulaski staff and students will celebrate the launch of its new IB program on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 9 a.m. Families and the community are invited to attend and learn more about the program.

Implementation of the IB Programme has been underway for the past three years. School leadership took part in lengthy applications, consultations, and site visits to bring this process to its conclusion: notification of authorization as an IB school. Pulaski Principal Lolita Patrick summed up the school’s reaction to the news. “We are overjoyed to reach this milestone on the road to success for every student at Pulaski High School. With ongoing support from our students, faculty, district colleagues and leaders, and the IB organization, we will continue this journey.”

Pulaski joins seven other IB schools within MPS: Academy of Accelerated Learning, Lowell International Elementary School, MacDowell Montessori School, Reagan College Preparatory High School, Rufus King International High School, Rufus King International Middle School, and Wedgewood International Middle School.

Pulaski High School is located at 2500 W. Oklahoma Ave., in Milwaukee. Seats are still open for this fall. Call (414) 902-8900 for a tour of the school. Enroll at mpsmke. com/Enroll.
