
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Epsilon Kappa Omega Chapter hosted a meaningful day of service, remembrance, and environmental stewardship at its tree dedication and planting ceremony at Havenwoods State Forest, located at 6141 N. Hopkins St. Held in Wisconsin’s only urban state forest, this special event honors the enduring legacy of members whose commitment, leadership, and service have shaped the chapter and community for decades.
The event began with Tree Dedication Ceremony from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., followed by photos and refreshments. The event continued with a Tree Planting, where members planted trees symbolizing strength, growth, and the deep roots of sisterhood within the community. There were 25 trees planted.
This year’s tree planting recognizes members who have dedicated over 50 years of service along with a tribute to a beloved departed member who has entered Ivy Beyond the Wall, Alexiah Love; Golden Members (50+ Years of Service) Brenda Joyce Roshell, Deborah Lewis, Jenice Burrell, Carolyn A. Bell, Debra Brown-Wallace, Joyce King-McIver, Catherine E. Miles, Diane Milner, Leslie Clevert, Cathy D. Wanzo, Doris Elaine Cahn, Liddie Collins-Siegrist, Charlene Pierce, Edwina A. Beanum, Linda J. Presberry; Charlotte Floyd-Pruitt, Elaine Stephens Walker, Marcella Williams, Clemmel G. Anthony, Emily Carter, Minnie Chambers, Geraldine K. Sykes, Sharon C. Jackson, and Sheila Parrish.
