
After 78 years, Reverend Reginald D. Ivy was installed as the third Pastor of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2433 W. Roosevelt Dr., on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Reverend Ivy acknowledged that he stands on the shoulders of two great pastors – Reverend Raymond L. Lathan who organized New Hope and retired in 1994, and Reverend Dr. Archie L. Ivy, the father of Pastor Reginald Ivy who became pastor in 1995. Dr. Archie Ivy retired in January of 2026.
Out-of-town guests as well as numerous pastors, family members, church members, Wisconsin General Baptist State Convention (WGBSC), Inc. officers, fraternity brothers, and other visitors from around the city and state were in attendance. Dr. Archie Ivy delivered the Installation Message. Program participants included: Pastor John Laura, Dr. John Jones, Rev. Kurt Boyd, Dr. John Walton, Rev. Mindi Welton-Mitchell, Dean Emma Brooks, Dr. Elenor W. Cardenas, Rev. Anthony Caples, Dr. Fred Crouthers, Dr. Russell Williamson, Pastor Andrew Johnson, Pastor Christopher Boston, Pastor James Ivy, Dr. Demetrius Williams, Pastor Edward Thomas, Pastor Joseph Jackson, Rev. Anthony Phillips, Deacon Garett Newsom, Dr. Archie Ivy, and the Pastoral Transition Team.
Reverend Reginald D. Ivy serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Wisconsin General Baptist State Congress of Christian Education, a certified State Congress Dean of Christian Education, and an instructor through the National Baptist Congress of Education. He is a 28 year Milwaukee Public School teacher. Currently he is a middle school science and health teacher at Milwaukee School of Languages. He has served as an assistant track and field coach at James Madison Academic Campus High School. He is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity where he serves as chaplain. Rev. Ivy is the husband of Debbie Ivy and the father of Taylor and Caleb (lower right photo).
