On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Healing Grace Church brought together caregivers, advocates, and supporters for an evening dedicated to education, resource sharing, and recognition of the vital role caregivers of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients play in our society at the church, 7906 N 76th St. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the challenges and responsibilities of caregiving, with a focus on empowering individuals to become informed and compassionate caregivers themselves.
During the event, organizers provided an array of resources for both current caregivers and those facing difficulties in their roles. Special attention was given to the upcoming book release of “She Knew Something Was Wrong,” a resource aimed at helping caregivers navigate complex situations and recognize important warning signs.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a recognition award to Evangelist Margie Jackson, whose story of perseverance inspired everyone in attendance. Despite her personal battle with cancer and undergoing dialysis, Evangelist Margie continues to serve as a caregiver, embodying resilience and dedication. Her journey serves as a beacon of hope and encouragement for others facing an array of challenges.
In addition to the individual award, the event honored 50 current caregivers with acknowledgment awards, celebrating their unwavering commitment and service. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and a sense of community, as attendees connected and shared their experiences.
