We showed the nation and the world our power when Democrats turned out in historic numbers and put Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House. But the real fight for the soul of our nation is already underway as we head into 2022. With only 12 months to go, we need to get to work. We can’t afford to hit the snooze button.
The warning sirens are loud and clear: Virginia’s devastating election results for Democrats could become the fate of the nation if we don’t act now. Our Democratic majority is hanging in the balance, and Trump’s GOP is making headway. Trump’s sheep are projecting flipping 60 Democratic House seats red next November! And while ZERO Republicans voted to pass the American Rescue Plan, you better believe they’re all taking credit for it in their districts.
We must make sure voters know the truth! The American Rescue Plan is a Democratic victory for the American people! I encourage you to share this with your family, friends, and neighbors so come next November, they know who they can count on to get things done.
I am proud to share that last week, myself and my colleagues in the House voted to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework – a massive step forward for our country. This will provide funding for traditional construction projects like roads and bridges; but it includes funding to make high-speed internet available to everyone, replacing toxic lead pipes, and makes monumental steps to address climate change.
We are in unprecedented times. With every piece of legislation advanced by President Biden and the Congress, we are trying to fix four years of destruction from the Trump Administration’s reckless agenda during an international pandemic and a national crisis.
Democrats must continue delivering for the people of Wisconsin and families from sea to shining sea by sending the Build Back Better agenda to President Biden’s desk. What’s included in this transformative, once-in-a-generation legislation are the very things that we Democrats campaigned on – the very reason why voters chose to put Joe Biden in the White House and gave Democrats the majority in both the House and Senate.
As President Biden said, the Build Back Better framework will lower your bills for healthcare, childcare, prescription drugs, and preschool. And families will get a tax cut. I’m proud of what we accomplished under the Biden-Harris Administration, and I will do everything in my power to pass Build Back Better and deliver for Wisconsin.
Democrats, we’ve resisted. We’ve risen. Now, we must represent!
