On Friday, November 1, 2019, the Milwaukee Urban League hosted a “Lunch and Learn” at the Milwaukee Urban League offices, 435 West North Ave. The topic of this “Lunch and Learn” was, “2020 City of Milwaukee-County Budgets Overview and Q&A.”
The informative program discussed what goes into making an annual city or county budget. From research to ratification, attendees learned the ins and outs of how much and what it takes to build the funds and distribute them.
The city and county budget provide for many of the services that run our city including road work, trash removal, sewers, payroll for workers and much more. The 2020 budget for both the city and county are currently in the works so presenters were able to gain feedback from the attendees as to what services were important to them.
