On Wednesday April 11, 2018, the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors (GMAR) and city leaders recognize the 50th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act at an event held on the Marquette University campus. Speakers for the event were Mayor Tom Barrett; Alderman Ashanti Hamilton; former Milwaukee NAACP Youth Council member and Commando Fred Reed; civil rights activist Margaret “Peggy” Rozga; Milwaukee Urban League President and CEO Dr. Eve Hall; Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council president William Tisdale; GMAR chairwoman Vickie Kelsall; and GMAR president Mike Ruzicka.
As part of the news conference, the GMAR presented a check for $12,500 to Housing Resources, Inc., to support their work in preparing Milwaukeeans for successful homeownership.
