On Saturday August 25.’ 2018, the African American Breastfeeding Network (AABN) hosted it 4th Annual Lift Up Every Baby! event at Parklawn YMCA, 4340 N. 46th St., in recognition of National Black Breastfeeding Awareness Week (August 25-31) and World Breastfeeding Awareness Month.

This free community-wide event celebrated the benefits and wellness of breastfeeding and the resiliencies of African American families and the community.

This event helped mothers, fathers, and families of color connect with community resources to help bring up healthy babies and families, and show them the support there is in the community to help the thrive.

Pictured at the event was AABN Executive Director Dalvery Blackwell (left with plaque) and some of the participating mothers.
