China Lights, the hugely popular lantern festival at Boerner Botanical Gardens, had to end sometime — and that sometime is this Sunday. The Midwest run of the show wraps up this weekend, with capacity crowds expected to continue. Advance tickets are available daily at the Boerner visitor center, 9400 Boerner Drive, Hales Corners, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with tickets on sale at the box office from 5 p.m. until parking lots are full. Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors 60 and older and kids 5 to 17, and free for children younger than 5. The exhibit opens at 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, with stage performances at 6:30 and 8 p.m.

The 2016 Veterans Day Parade and Day of Honor steps off at 11 a.m. Saturday, starting at N. Plankinton and W. Kilbourn avenues. The parade will go south on Plankinton to Well St., heading east to N. Prospect Ave., then south on Prospect to Mason St., heading east to the War Memorial Center and north to Veterans Park, 1010 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive.

Cyclists let loose Saturday in the 2016 Estabrook Park Beer Garden Cyclocross Classic. Registration ended Thursday, but you can still catch the action, and a brew in the beer garden, 4600 N. Estabrook Park Drive, for what’s expected to be the final weekend of the season.
