Crouther familyOn Saturday, September 19, 2015, David Crouther, Jr., and Trinity Crouther celebrated their 7th birthday by hosting a “Making A Difference” (M.A.D.) party. The twins and more than a dozen of their friends gathered to make PBJ sandwiches and lunch bags for Joy House. Joy House is a program of the Milwaukee Rescue Mission that provides food, shelter, and assistance to homeless mothers and their children. The party goers decorated over 100 lunch bags and filled them with the PBJ sandwiches they made, along with fresh apples and a juice box. In keeping with the spirit of giving back, they requested that in lieu of gifts, participants bring much- needed personal items for the residents of Joy House. In addition to the bagged lunches, the family also delivered boxes full of deodorant, lotion, powder, toothpaste, wipes, and paper products to Joy House. The participants had fun making the sandwiches, decorating the lunch bags, and filling them. And (their parents hope) they also learned a valuable lesson on being thankful for what they have and the importance of giving to those less fortunate. Parents Stacy and David Crouther, Sr., are certainly proud of David Jr., and Trinity for their willingness and desire to break away from the traditional cake-and-icecream, gift-receiving celebration. “Not only have they directly helped families in need; but we truly believe they inspired other parents and their children to consider making their next celebration a M.A.D. one,” said David and Trinity’s parents in a press release.
