On July 7, 2015, Prophet Malcolm Hunt spoke at a prayer vigil at the intersection of N. 62nd and W. Fiebrantz streets. The prayer vigil was organized by the family of 14-year-old Tariq Akbar, who was allegedly shot and killed by a 15-year-old male after a Facebook dispute involving a girl turned tragic near the Lakefront just as the fireworks were concluding. “This has to stop,” said Prophet Hunt. “[Tariq] was the 82nd person to be shot and killed in Milwaukee this year, only two less than all shootings in 2014.” Prophet Hunt is in charge of the crime and incarceration committee of Pastors United. He said it is customary for families of victims who have been shot and killed to hold a prayer vigil. He said he attends as many as his schedule permits. Prophet Hunt estimated about 100 persons came to support the Akbar family
